The pendant can be misplaced, dropped, or stuck on your shirt. A locator or FindMy functionality would help find it.

Just recently, it feel off my shirt when I was getting out of my car and it fell underneath. I didn't realize till several hours later.

Fortunately, I was able to track it down using Bluetooth Inspector on the app store to detect it's BT connection as I walked around aimlessly.
